Troubleshooting

Common setup questions.

Most issues come down to network isolation or a missed firewall prompt. These answers cover the usual suspects.

Bridge not found
Make sure Avionics Buddy Bridge is running on your PC and that your iPhone/iPad is on the same Wi-Fi network. Try restarting the Bridge app.
QR code does not connect
Ensure the QR code is fully visible on screen and not obscured. Hold your device steady and try again. If it still fails, check that both devices are on the same local network.
Windows Firewall blocking the bridge
When Avionics Buddy Bridge first runs, Windows may ask for firewall permission — click "Allow access". If you missed it, open Windows Defender Firewall → Allow an app through firewall and add Avionics Buddy Bridge.
PC and device not on the same Wi-Fi
Both your PC and your iPhone/iPad must be on the same local Wi-Fi network. Guest networks or network isolation features can prevent discovery.
VPN or network isolation active
VPNs and corporate/guest Wi-Fi networks often isolate devices from each other. Disconnect from VPN or switch to a standard home Wi-Fi network.
MSFS is not running
Avionics Buddy Bridge requires Microsoft Flight Simulator to be open and a flight to be active. Start MSFS and load a flight. Keep the Avionics Bridge running.
No telemetry coming through
Telemetry begins once you are in an active flight session in MSFS. The bridge displays 'Waiting for MSFS…' until a flight is loaded and running.
